Evil Inc: Nov. 12, 2024 and Nov. 14, 2024

Panel 1:

Narration box: Meanwhile…

TV news anchor: We have an update from Hana Takahashi, reporting from downtown.

Panel 2:

Hana Takahashi: I’m told this gang of villains-turned-heroes have been alerted to a gigantic monster lumbering towards the heart of the city. It’s toppling every building in its path.

Panel 3:

Hana Takahashi: Upon hearing this, Night Mayor turned to his teammates and said… “All right, gang, time to move out.”

Panel 4:

TV news anchor: Does this mean we can expect these new heroes to swing into action?

Hana Takahashi: I’m… not sure…

All of the assembled superheroes are accessing familiar real-estate apps on their smartphones in an attempt to sell their houses before the monster destroys them.

Panel 5:

Night Mayor: We’re not superheroes! We’ve got no hope of defeating that monster!

Crimson Ghost: It’s times like these that superheroes are born!

Glue Trap: heh. I saw you and Malocchio working on that in the alley.

Jeremy: Malocchio! Will your curse work on that thing?

Malocchio: Yes. But my power relies on eye contact.

Faux Fox: Quick! Someone get Malocchio a turtleneck sweater!

Hana Takahashi (reporter): No, you idiot. She means… someone needs to fly her up to the creature’s face.

Panel 6:

Crimson Ghost: M’lady… your carriage awaits.

Malocchio: Isn’t there anything less… him?!

Panel 7:

Crimson Ghost (as he flies Malocchio towards the monster): It’s OK to be scared, but if we pull this off… the post-thwart adrenaline is gonna make that purse-snatching feel like a case of the hiccups.

Malocchio: That’s exactly what I’m afraid of!

Panel 8:

Crimson Ghost: Sooner or later, you’re gonna hafta admit you like me.

Malocchio: You’re gonna need a lot more monsters.

Miss Match: “Y’know… back in the day, this wouldn’t have been an issue…”

Panel 2:

Miss Match continues talking to Dr. Muskiday, who looks unhappy.

Miss Match: “…I don’t recall any legislation passed recently.”

Panel 3:

Miss Match shrugs, unconcerned.

Miss Match: “After all, it’s probably a trick…”

Panel 4:

Dr. Muskiday and Miss Match look on as a giant-sized creature, looking nervous, stands by a large sign just outside the city. The sign reads: “Must be THIS TALL to DESTROY the CITY.”

Miss Match: “Just tell him I’ll cover any tickets or fines.”

Panel 5:

(Narration box reads “Meanwhile, back at the Fairmount branch of Evil Inc., a lone figure strolls down a hallway.”)

Tempest, a short-haired woman in a short dress, walks down a hallway with multiple doors.

Panel 6:

Tempest passes a door, which has a nameplate displaying a symbol.

Voice from behind the door: “Psssst…”

Panel 7:

Tempest, turns to face the door.

Tempest: “Oh! It’s you!”

Panel 8:

The hallway is empty as the door shuts with a quiet “click.”

Last week, Miss Match went to Dr. Musikday’s laboratory to ask him if he had anything BIG to help the office prove its worth to the CEO.

Today, they prepare to unleash havoc on the unsuspecting city!

… almost.

Miss Match: “Do you think that will be enough?”

Dr. Muskiday: “Possibly. You see, my time-distortion device is in the early stages of development.”

Panel 3:

Muskiday: “I can only go backward in time.”

Panel 4:

Dr. Muskiday (seen in shadow with a sparkle effect behind it): “And I can only go back about ten seconds or so.”

Miss Match (repeating the question): “Do you think that will be enough?”

Desdemona stands before a whiteboard that details toxins being released into the city’s water supply.

Panel 2:

(Catnip gestures towards a monstrous storm threatening the cityscape.)

Panel 3:

(Count Spurlock enthusiastically presents a chart detailing an airborne attack on citizens wearing masks.)

Panel 4:

Giant Tess, speaking to the group: “Let’s face it. It’s getting harder to tell the difference between a supervillain attack and everyday life.”

Evil Inc, Oct. 24, 2024

(Desdemona, Count Spurlock, Catnip, Psy-Chick, Giant Tess, and Lightning Lady are assembled in Tess’ office.)

Desdemona: “Do we still have the monkey ray?”

Count Spurlock: “We can turn the entire city into primates!.”

Psy-Chick: “The entire city was turned into werewolves just a few months ago!”

Giant Tess: “So…?”

Lightning Lady: “So… they loved it!”

Panel 6:

Lightning Lady: “Super strength, heightened senses, endurance for days… and marathon moonlight mating sessions!”

Panel 7:

(Lightning Lady continues in a narration box: “For weeks, I was fielding calls from people who wanted to be turned back.”)

Scene: Lightning Lady on the phone: “I’m sorry, we can’t. We didn’t do that one.”*

Panel 8:

Giant Tess: “They must’ve been disappointed when you explained we couldn’t turn them into werewolves.”

Lightning Lady says… nothing
