Cassie: I haven’t seen anyone use Quickshag™ in ages!
These assassination attempts are getting worse!

(Cassie bends down as Jeremy reaches into the carpet.)
Cassie: Hold on…

(Jeremy, kneeling, pulls a landline-style phone out of the carpet and speaks nervously as Cassie stands behind him.)
Jeremy: Hello, this is—
Oh, yes.

(Jeremy hands the phone to Cassie.)
Jeremy: It’s a very powerful-sounding woman, and she’s absolutely furious!

(Cassie looks annoyed as she takes the phone.)
Cassie: I told you… no personal calls at the office…
Jeremy: No… it’s for you…

Miss Match: So… you’re just gonna give up on Angus—just like THAT?!?

Panel 2: Lightning Lady: Angus is a wonderful man.
Lightning Lady: He deserves someone like her.

Panel 3: Miss Match (yelling): YOU ARE SOMEONE LIKE HER!
Lightning Lady: You know what I mean…

Panel 4: Lightning Lady (crying): She’s everything that’s good about me—without the baggage.

Panel 5: Miss Match: If she was everything good about you…
Miss Match (continued, off-panel): …she would be the one walking away…

Having found her boyfriend in the arms of an alternate-universe version of herself, Lightning Lady storms out — leaving Angus the Minotaur and this new woman to have a heart-to-heart chat.

I’ve been doing a fun feature on my Bluesky account: This Date in Evil Inc History. Here’s the entry for today:

Lightning Lady: “Don’t just stand there, impersonating a guppy… Invite me in!”
Angus: “I… I…”

Panel 2:
(Lightning Lady confidently steps inside while Angus still looks uncertain.)
Lightning Lady: “Don’t be so dramatic. I was in the neighborhood, so I dropped by…”

Panel 3:
(A voice calls from inside the apartment. Angus turns toward it, while Lightning Lady looks on.)
Voice from inside: “Angus, sweetie… Your breakfast is getting cold!”

Panel 4:
(Lightning Lady looks furious, her mask reflecting her anger.)
Lightning Lady: “You bastard. All this time you said you were OK with us taking things slow…”
